Introduction

Welcome to our blog!

We are a group of students from the School of Science and Technology Singapore, class S2-03.

Firstly, we would like to come up with the questions we might want to ask gaming addicts or potential gaming addicts to help others to prevent others as well from becoming gaming addicts.

Our goal is to find out how people in singapore get addicted to gaming and interview gaming addicts or potential gaming addicts why they love gaming. These questions will give us a better comprehension of the issue and assisting us in this project.

Statement of Problem:

The emergence of online gaming addiction is raising concerns in many parts of the world such as China (BBC, 2007), Korea (Hur, 2006), and Taiwan (Lee, 2007).   Singapore is not spared either, with her massive users of Internet particularly the adolescents who look to the Internet for sources of entertainment and leisure. A longitudinal study conducted in Singapore between 2007 and 2009 found that students were spending as much as 22.5 hours per week gaming (Media Literacy Council, 2013).  Research suggests that excessive online gaming may lead to symptoms commonly experienced by substance addicts. Since games are particularly appealing to children and adolescents, these individuals may be more at risk than other groups of developing detrimental gaming addiction.
